Hello out there in accutane, acne, sotret and the rest of the generic isotetrinoan (spell check please!) NO BREAKOUTS!!!!!!!! After coming off the medication I am pimple free, although around that time of the month I have noticed and increase in oil on my face, not terribly bad just more moist than the rest of the month, I have received lots of questions about my experience via this site and though i should do a major run on paragraph about the after effects as well. I lost weight while taking sotret, about 5 pounds (guess I was just as hungry while taking it, not a huge loss of appetite but still some loss of appetite was there) I have regained the 5 pounds (my appetite is back to normal) my weight is 138 now. My lips went back to normal about 2 days was all it took to notice a major difference dont even own a chapstick now, also my hair needs to be washed every other day, on the medication it didn’t get oily at all so I could wash it every 3 even 4 (i Miss that terribly was fun having more time on my hands not having to blow dry every other day)
I still have some brown scarring marks left behind from the breakout i use to get, They are slowly going away since no new arrivals and I am really happy with that.
Well good wishes to all who are on the medication, there is light at the end of the tunnel, patience it all works out, you will be so much happier with your skin keep on keepin on, will write again in about 3 months or so for now happy skin to all!

Lucky for you your lips regained their moisture. I had to use chapstick for a whole year before they returned to normalcy!

It is a challenging process, but if you find products that work for you, get down a daily routine….things start to be a little bit more manageable. That was my greatest problem, I couldn’t find anyone with suggestions that worked for my skin.

Thanks for all of the great info in your blog! I just started sotret 3 days ago so I’m very excited and nervous to see what happens as time goes by!

Phew! good to see that there’s normal feedback and comments on this drug rather than just horror stories — I’m beginning my second round this week, hopefully the second time’s the charm!

Hi,I am on this medication for about 4 months and I still have zits unfortunatly. But the good fact is that they don’t appear so many anymore, like one in 2-3 days, but I still have skars left from when I was trying fo get them out by myself. Now I bought proactive and I hope it will help me.What can I say,I am an 17 year old boy and for 4 years I am looking down when I’m going on the street or I’m pissed off when people make fun of me and call me in many ways(but I know how it is like to be so,and I don’t wish to anyone to have pimples, not evan them ).For 4 years every night I fall asleep wishing the next day will be better and so on.I think I wrote enough but hey,you guys are the only guys that understand me.

I’ve heard about some awful side effects with accutane. But glad to hear it was good for you. Everyone is different. I prefer using all natural herbs and it rid me of my cystic acne. Just passing on another alternative…

noticing sotret not so effective any more. hearing bad t hings about quality control. drug comes from india. nott nearly as powerful as accutane. anyone else notice sotret lack of ability to dry out skin lately?? i started taking 4 10g pills a day for several days without much notice of dryness. that would never happen onreal accutane.
