To Everyone Who Comments!!!! Sotret Medication

January 9, 2008 · 8 Comments

Please be patient, it is really hard and the only thing the doctors cannot give you a pill for……For me I speak only, but my skin has never looked so good….I practice patience everyday with the medication and the process.

The second thing is something that has helped me through the process…….We adapt to the medication the medication does not adapt to us…Which for me means, my symptoms change weekly or monthly and I treat them with the doctors advise as they change…dry lips, lip balm (aquafore) dry skin, (aveeno lotion), Thirsty (water) It sounds really simple but when I started this process I did not have weird symptoms happening differently every month so it was a bit overwhelming, Just keep the doctor informed of any changes, write them down and bring the note with you for the next appointment, Be patient for me patience and the medication has worked miracles for my skin.

Good wished and Happy Skin to you all!

    Hi,
I have just started on Sotret…thanks to the advice on your blogs, I will be patient and keep a close watch on any side-effects that I need to report-into the Skin specialist.
Had a question for you though – Is this a permanent cure?

    Thanks,
    Shaheen

    Hi,

I’m about to start with Sotret in a weeks time and presently the doc has put me on clandithral for 14 days.So the plan is once i finish the clandithral i have to start with Sotret.I have been tryin to treat nodular cystic acne around chin, head and chest region for more than three years now with more than 6-7 doctors consulted.Initially when the condition was diagnosed i was given Isoace (isotretinoin)which i took for about 6 months and gave good results but all the good results faded away few weeks after i stopped the medication.Besides Isoace i have taken lots of antibiotics and have undergone a number of tests (prick, patch, blood, liver function, triglycerides and many more…everything looks normal).I admit that i’m depressed and down with the appearance of my skin.
I’m 28 yrs old and there is a school of though that the conditions like acne is only related to 18-25 yr old age group….do you have a different opinion about this??……Do you think that there is an absolute cure for this condition?……..
    Thanks,
    Anil

TRUE IS HARD , I 3MOTHS AGO I BEGAN WITH MINOR NOSE BLEEDS AND CHAPPED LIPS, LET’S NOT FORGET THE APPERANCE OF MY EYES CHANGE SOMETIMES I LOOK LIKE IF I AM HIGH IT REALLY WEIRD MY DAD ACTUALLY THOUGH I WAS HIGH IT WAS DIFFICULT TO MAKE HIM UNDERSTAND THAT IT WAS SIDE EFFECTS OF SOTRET. IS HARD TO BE PATIENT BUT IT’S OF THE BEST. I TOLD MY DOCTOR AND I USE NOSE GEL EVERY TIME I NEED IT AND ALSO CHPPED STICK FOR MY LIPS BECAUSE THAT IS REALLY BAD. WELL GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US ….

My son started sotret and is on his second week. His nose bleeds are pretty bad. He feels as he has brain fog. Will this get better? He is thinking of quitting it. I hope he will continue. Thanks.

Not that I’m impressed a lot, but this is more than I expected for when I stumpled upon a link on Furl telling that the info here is quite decent. Thanks.
